Clothing and Attire

My father-in-law also loves Lord of the Rings. I had all my groomsmen wear fun socks for my wedding and he wanted to be a part of it. I got him these:

He loved them.

But there’s also some creative shirt ideas out there. My wife’s family really loves Disney. I’m excited to wear this for our next trip:

Another funny choice:

Art and Posters

For years, artists have been creating fantasy art to fill Tolkien’s world. And some of the most popular artists were chosen to help Peter Jackson and team bring Tolkien’s world to life for the movie adaptation of the Lord of the Rings. Here are some of my favorites:

Hobbit Hills Photograph by Racheal Christian | Fine Art America

Rivendell Digital Art by Cynthia Decker | Fine Art America

But also Lord of the Rings lends itself well to framed quotes.

Though I don’t have a child, I already bought this one for their room when the time comes:

Board Games

Let’s face it. Most people that like Lord of the Rings also like board games. Guess what? You can get a gift that fits both of those interests with the Lord of the Rings Board Game. Unlike most board games, the Lord of the Rings Board Game is cooperative. Each player plays as a hobbit, working together to destroy the One Ring.

There are also traditional games that are ‘Lord of the Rings’ branded, such as Lord of the Rings Risk and Lord of the Rings Monopoly.

Video Games

Though the Return of King hit theaters all the way back in 2003, Warner Bros continues to produce Middle-Earth inspired video games. The latest is Middle-Earth: The Shadow of War, in which players lead a northern ranger against a host of dark enemies.

Actual Rings

Have an elvish soulmate? There’s no better way to propose than with a Lord of the Rings inspired engagement ring! (We’ve heard that many affianced couples prefer to use their Ring as a backup for their actual engagement ring.)

Doormats

Lord of the Rings lends itself surprisingly well to pithy doormat slogans. And best yet, doormats are practical, fun, and cheap!

I got this for my brother for his birthday:

You Shall Not Pass Doormat

It’s one of the only items he has proudly displayed in his entire apartment.

Other good choices are:

And:

Pens

Pens are great gifts because they are useful at home or in the office. There are many Lord of the Rings pens out there (some of which cost more than $30,000), but we prefer the Thorin Oakenshield key pen.

Books

Yes, we know that Lord of the Rings fans already have the main trilogy of books. But, did you know that there are many commentaries on Tolkien’s works? Our favorite is Untangling Tolkien by Matthew Perry.

Using Tolkein’s notes, several authors have created additional tales taking place within the realm of Middle Earth. The most popular compilation is The Complete History of Middle Earth, which can be found on Amazon.
